|Please join us to discuss the new program and services that PHO will be putting in place – in partnership with the field – to support applied research and program evaluation, education and professional development and knowledge exchange.
As you are aware, the provincial share of funding for applied research and program evaluation, education and professional development, and knowledge exchange (the PHRED program functions) has transferred to PHO effective January 1, 2011. In preparation for this transfer, PHO held extensive consultations with the field to identify the needs and priorities that have helped shape the design of the new program.
PHO will be hosting a webinar to introduce the new program model and services on Friday, January 21, 2010 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. We invite you to listen in and participate in the discussion.
The webinar will introduce the program elements and services as well as identify opportunities for health units and public health associations to get involved in helping implement the services and in enabling evidence-based public health practice.
This webinar is the next step towards implementation. PHO will continue to work with public health associations, practitioners, and public health leaders over the coming months to finalize the service model. An initial set of services will begin in March 2011, with more phasing in throughout this year.
Summary materials and the presentation will be provided to all participants in advance of the webinar. Afterwards, these materials along with a detailed paper outlining program goals, functions, elements and services, and results of the numerous consultations that helped to shape the design of the model will be posted and disseminated broadly to stakeholders.
We look forward to your participation and ask that you pass along this invitation to anyone you think would be interested in attending the webinar.
