Evidence to Guide Action - Knowledge Exchange Forum

Description: The Program Training and Consultation Centre, in collaboration with the Public Health Ontario and the Ontario Tobacco Research Unit, is pleased to announce the launch of Evidence to Guide Action, a provincial knowledge exchange forum on March 10–11, 2011 in downtown Renaissance Toronto Downtown Hotel.

This two-day forum, designed to further profile the evidence outlined in the Smoke-Free Ontario – Scientific Advisory Committee (SFO-SAC) Report: Evidence to Guide Action: Comprehensive Tobacco Control in Ontario, will include:

  • more in-depth reviews of the evidence by experts
  • profiling of local and regional program and policy activities that align with the evidence
  • panel discussions
  • breakout sessions to discuss selected areas of evidence-informed interventions and relevant local applications

Target audience: TCAN Coordinators, Youth Development Specialists, Tobacco Control Coordinators/Managers (TCCs), Medical Officers of Health, Representatives from SFO Resource Centres and other provincial organizations, the Public Health Ontario, and the Ministry of Health Promotion and Sport. Up to two participants (including the TCC) from each health unit may attend.

Location: Toronto Renaissance Downtown Hotel (1 Blue Jays Way, Toronto, ON, M5V 1J4)
