Tools to successfully manage outbreaks in healthcare and community settings
At this third annual workshop on outbreak management, to be held September 20 – 21, 2012, speakers will be presenting to public health unit staff on a variety of topics including:
• providing health units with information about Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBLs) and Carbapenamase producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPEs)
• informing health units about recent developments with a) community outbreaks of iGAS, epidemiology and challenges, b) challenges in outbreak management in long-term care homes c) use of social media in public health and d) information about food borne outbreaks, and more.
Suggested audience:
• senior-level and novice-level outbreak management staff in public health units
• public health staff working in communicable disease or enteric programs
• public health inspectors, public health nurses and epidemiologists who are involved with outbreak management
