The Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion (OAHPP) is seeking two board members to provide leadership for OAHPP on its journey to becoming an internationally-recognized centre of excellence dedicated to protecting and promoting the health of Ontarians.
We need your suggestions and/or candidacy for individuals with skills in one or more of public accounting and finance, emergency management, and laboratory services (especially lab transformation). Experience in senior levels of the public sector, and particularly in public health are valued.
Governance
OAHPP is accountable to the minister of health and long-term care through the chair of the Board of Directors. The board is responsible for strategic planning and oversight of the organization. It ensures that OAHPP’s strategic, business and operational plans, policies and activities are consistent with its legislated mandate, the needs of its public health partners, and government policy direction. OAHPP has the ability to communicate findings based on scientific and technical research and knowledge.
Board members are appointed for a three-year term. Membership is a part-time voluntary commitment.
