Public Health Ontario (PHO) is looking for interested individuals to join its new advisory committee.
The committee is being created to provide input and advice to PHO on its new program to support health units to address applied research, program evaluation, education and professional development, and knowledge exchange functions. Members of the advisory committee will ensure that the program continues to reflect the needs and priorities of public health stakeholders in Ontario.
This new program, currently known as the SRKE program, has five elements, each of which has associated services:
- Locally driven collaborative projects
- Ethics support
- Student education and preceptor support
- Library services
- Knowledge exchange support.
Committee membership
The committee is looking to fill 15 vacancies from a pool of candidates who are leaders in these fields and disciplines.
Committee representation will draw from:
- public health units
- academic and research institutions
- government
- key stakeholder organizations.
Committee responsibilities
Committee members will:
- set program priorities
- promote the program
- liaise with public health stakeholders
- provide and share information
- advise on future activities and program sustainability.

Process for applications and expressions of interest
Candidates should submit an expression of interest that includes the following items:
- Cover letter that includes a description of their expertise and a summary of their contribution and record of achievement in their respective field of knowledge
- Curriculum vitae.
Individuals selected for appointment to the advisory committee will be asked to declare any actual or potential conflict of interest.
