The Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC)

Date/Time: April 5- 8 2011
Location: Westin Harbor Castle

Description: “Exchanging evidence, ideas and technology”

Santé publique Ontario (PHO), together with the Ontario Public Health Association (OPHA) and the Association of Local Public Health Agencies (alPHa), will be hosting the inaugural Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC) on April 5 – 8, 2011.

The Ontario Public Health Convention aims to advance public health in Ontario by increasing the level of both knowledge and skills in the workforce.   It is envisioned that the Convention will include an exciting mix of both research Présentations to share new knowledge and educational workshops that build and refine practical skills.

Modelled after the Journées Annuelles de Santé Publique (JASP) conference, the Ontario Public Health Convention will have a strong focus on training and skills development, while also providing opportunities for collaboration, the creation of networks, and the sharing of the latest scientific knowledge and best practices.   This year’s TOPHC will explore the themes of exchanging evidence, ideas and technology.

TOPHC hopes to attract front-line public-health professionals, such as health promoters, epidemiologists, public-health nurses, physicians, researchers, policy-makers and other groups.
