During the H1N1 pandemic, OAHPP has acted on its mandate to provide scientific and technical advice to those working to protect and promote the health of Ontarians. Support to the Chief Medical Officer of Health has included leading a Scientific Response Team that has provided several scientific studies and reports;  testing an unprecedented number of specimens at the OAHPP Public Health Laboratories; synthesizing and analyzing  test results for surveillance, epidemiology, clinical research and development of clinical guidelines; and providing support for  public information and media outreach and responses.
