The resources and tools were developed by the Student Placement, Education and Preceptorship (SPEP) Network.  Each resource has been developed for use by public health units and may be adapted. New resources and tools will be added throughout 2012.

• Preceptor Education Program (PEP) - seven online free inter-professional training modules for preceptors and students. University of Western Ontario.
• Guidelines for providing quality community health nursing placements - describes five guidelines to structure and optimize the opportunities for student learning in community health placements. Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).
• Preceptorship Resource Kit – user-friendly resource to assist nurses in their roles as preceptors.  There is a cost to this resource. Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
• A Public Health Primer: A resource for students and Clinicians  - this site offers a virtual textbook on Public Health concepts for clinicians. Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada.
• The Centralized Preceptor Education Project (CPEP) - CPEP net is an online resource for nursing clinical instructors and preceptors that provides helpful hints and resources. University of Calgary, Faculty of Nursing.
• British Columbia Preceptor Development - includes an online preceptor training manual as well as tools and resources.  Also includes rural preceptor support and tips for preceptors working with interdisciplinary teams. BC Academic Health Council.
• Preceptor and Mentor Initiative for Health Sciences in British Columbia - describes preceptorship roles, diversity, benefits and challenges and other resources. University of British Columbia, College of Health Disciplines.
