Effective Workplace and Community Interventions for Adults: Impact on healthy eating, physical activity and Body Mass Index (BMI): Risk factors for diabetes.

In 2010, Public Health Ontario commissioned a literature review and synthesis of effective workplace and community interventions for adults and their impact on healthy eating, physical activity, and body mass index, and risk factors for diabetes. An earlier Ontario modelling study showed that middle-aged adults will contribute the greatest number of future incident cases of Type 2 diabetes in Canada. Building on the modelling study, this newly released literature review provides a synthesis of evidence for physical activity, eating behaviours and BMI focused workplace and community based interventions for adults aged 45 to 64.
