Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committees provide expert advice, develop evidence-based knowledge products (best practice documents) and provide broad-based field advice. These advisory committees draw on the dedication of health care practitioners with expertise in infectious disease, infection prevention and control, immunization, epidemiology, public health, occupational health and safety and veterinary medicine. PIDAC committees meet regularly throughout the year in a combination of full-day meetings and half-day teleconferences. Frequency of meetings will vary by committee.

About the application process:
Public Health Ontario recognizes that many external advisors may not be completely free of actual, potential or perceived conflict of interest since such external advisors may have affiliations with regulated industries, the scientific community, or special interest groups which receive funding from industry. Public Health Ontario has developed conflict of interest rules that are intended to achieve a reasonable balance between those divergent considerations and enabling Public Health Ontario to gain from the expertise of external advisors while avoiding or mitigating conflict of interest. To this end, each candidate will be asked to complete a conflict of interest disclosure form as part of the application process.
All applications will be reviewed by Public Health Ontario and the respective PIDAC committee chair. All candidates will be notified in writing of the success of their candidacy.
Postings will remain online and available for viewing until the positions are filled.
